How can I up my PPG
Hey folks, writing to the forums yet again with another conundrum of sorts. Just finished up my freshman year, aside for some statewide things in the Illinois circuit, and served as a perfectly acceptable captain for my JV team. However, reviewing my stats, I found out my highest PPG total this season(outside of novice tournaments), was 38. Definitely far from being that good, so with my offseason prep beginning, I was wondering if anyone on here has any advice for improving my PPG on my upcoming season. Thanks in advance folks!

Re: How can I up my PPG
In general I would not recommend obsessing over individual stats since it can get pretty unhealthy.
The most facetious answer to your question of course is "get more points/tossup questions" in order to get a higher PPG. More practically this is just "study" (read packets, look at things on a db, etc) and "practice" and identify where you're able to get more points (are you leaving points on the table because questions simply go dead? Learn enough to pick those up for free! Are people just beating you stuff? Learn more clues so you can buzz before them).

Re: How can I up my PPG
Here's a guide I wrote on studying: How to study.
I would say that, once you have even a slight inkling of what mechanical steps to take while studying (what to look at, how to review, etc.), the next step is to spend a couple weeks applying it. Hopefully this is enough to get you started in that regard.
