Another Quizbowler On Jeopardy

Post by ArloLyle »

I just wanted to congratulate Lenzy Krehbiel-Burton of Oklahoma State University for her win on Jeopardy on Monday. Hopefully she will give Ken Jennings a run for his money.

Also, am I the last to discover j-archive.com? Great website.

It's a college tournament, so she only gets to play 4 games maximum (including a 2-game final), so comparisons to Ken would be tough.

Hell, I'm on the staff! I dunno how well-known it is, though, so meh.

Yeah, its regular Jeopardy. She is a grad student, so ineligible for College Jeopardy, not to mention the probably numerous ineligibilities of her competitors :)

All I know is that for a very long time I thought a website providing an archive of merely Final Jeopardy questions would be a great idea given the number of times I'm trying to remember questions from only a couple days back.

Thanks the kudos, Arlo!

And yeah, it was regular "Jeopardy!" Today's episode involves a former contestant on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and a guy who went on -- and won -- "Win Ben Stein's Money."

It's pretty amazing in this episode how none of them got the USS Missouri when it mentioned a Japanese guy standing on it in 1945 (and they all were on the right track with naming US ships). Ahh well, perhaps I'm biased since my dad never let me forget my great uncle was on the deck that day.

I knew where it was, I just couldn't think of the boat's name...and it didn't help that the producer came over to us on the commercial break and told us to be as specific as possible.

I was also still really surprised at that, plus that was the second time in a row no one had gotten the Final Jeopardy, I think. I knew it specifically because the treaty was one of the things I saw this summer in Japan.

Uhh, serves me right for having not actually watched the show yesterday. Guess the Teen Tourney is next week, then. ><

Ha, well it happened again, nobody got final Jeopardy. I actually knew the first and last, but had no clue about the USS Missouri, but then again I have little historical knowledge that isn't somewhere around pre-high school level or completely random.
