Hello everyone, and welcome back to the mines!

We are pleased to announce that Livingston High School will be hosting our twelfth iteration of MARCH MADNESS on March 22, 2025!

SET: We are going to be using IS-237, a medium-difficulty NAQT set.

TEAMS: We can physically host up to 72 teams. Since we're not insane, we're going to have a soft cap of 36 teams. If we have the demand, readers, and buzzers to expand, we will be able to expand the field by increments of 6 until we reach the hard cap of 72. Basically, give us signups, readers, and buzzers!

ELIGIBILITY: MARMAD XII is not region-locked! Any team from anywhere can compete, and we offer distance discounts to anyone willing to make the trek.

ROUNDS: We are planning on a round robin of preliminary rounds in the morning, followed by lunch and then playoffs to follow for all. We guarantee each team at least 10 rounds.

START TIME: Registration will be open from 8 - 8:30, with a moderator meeting at 8:30 and an opening meeting at 8:45. Round 1 is scheduled to start at 9:00. We aim to be done before 5:30.

FOOD: Say it with me. A great, high-quality bagel (with butter and cream cheese) and orange juice breakfast will be provided free of charge. We will be selling pizzas in the morning (we will confirm your order in the morning upon arriving to check in) at $20 per pie (please bring cash and as close to exact change as possible). We will also be selling extra slices, waters, sodas, DELICIOUS homemade baked goods, and other food/snacks throughout the day, most all of which will cost $1 each. This is our team fundraiser so we would appreciate your support!

FEES:
$100 per team
$20 for each pizza ordered
EXPERIENCED moderator discount: -$15 per mod
FUNCTIONING buzzer discount: -$15 per buzzer set
Distance discount: -$20 per 200 miles traveled one-way
Minimum per-team fee: $40 for each team
Schools will be responsible to pay for their registration if they drop after March 15th, barring reasonable extenuating circumstances.

HOW TO REGISTER: Registration will constitute filling out the linked Google Form. This confirms your attendance and registration as well as how many (if any) buzzer systems and/or moderators you will be able to bring.

Please understand that posting on the forum does not constitute officially registering nor any official communication with the team. Email is the best way to communicate any possible concerns or questions.

PAYMENT: Please bring cash payments or make all checks out to "Livingston High School" with "Academic Team - MARMAD XII" in the memo line. Please submit all checks in person. Payment is required by the beginning of the tournament. If you require a pre-tournament invoice in order to have a check cut, please let us know ASAP or by March 15th so that we can send you the invoice in sufficient time.

Livingston High School is located at 30 Robert H. Harp Drive, Livingston, NJ 07039-2634. We're close to major interstates and only a 1/2 hour drive to Manhattan.
