INSTRUCTIONS:
To claim a date, please leave a comment with the which date you would like to claim along with the organization/school affiliated with the tournament. If you have a question set decided or any eligibility restrictions, please include that as well. I'll also fill in dates on my own accord, if announced elsewhere. If I haven't updated this post within a week of your comment, please reach out to [email protected].
I'll like to include North Carolinian events, especially collegiate ones, on this calendar, too, since Virginian colleges often play at events hosted down there. NCers, reach out to me if you'd like to claim the date before announcing widely. Otherwise, I'll add it here when I see it elsewhere.

VHSL has announced its main dates for the Scholastic Bowl postseason taking place in the spring 2025 semester:

Sat February 15- deadline for all pre-state-level tournaments
Sat March 1- state tournament

Centennial High School would like to reserve our Centennial Invitational 2024, a high school NAQT A set tournament on Sunday October 13.

Centennial will also run the Burleigh Manor Invitational 2024 for middle school and elementary shool players at Burleigh Manor Middle School on Sunday November 17.

On Sunday March 9, Centennial will run the IAC Regional Middle School and Elementary School tournament.

On Saturday, October 12th, Blacksburg would like to claim the date for the BHAI VIII. We are looking to use a NAQT A or similar difficulty set, if possible. Our tournament announcement is here: viewtopic.php?t=28204

Additionally, there will be an Eastern Virginia invitational tournament on September 28, pending host availability. This should be marked as a tentative date with further information to be released when confirmed. This will be held in the spring, more info when available.

Maggie Walker’s GSAC XXVII date is 3/08. Additionally, VHSL regionals tentative date at Maggie Walker is 2/08 with a snow date of 2/15. There shouldn’t be any barriers to these dates, but I will reach out with confirmation when we have it.

UNC will very tentatively be hosting a high school tournament on November 9. This might be of interest to teams in Virginia south of Richmond. It will be a mirror of a housewrite and possibly have both a regular and novice division.

I didn't advertise this change when I first made it, so here's a more prominent announcement: The University of Virginia will be hosting the 17th Cavalier Classic high school tournament on September 28th, 2024. More information is forthcoming.

Eastern Montgomery High School is planning the fourth Eastern Montgomery Invitational Tournament (EMIT IV) for Saturday January 18, 2025. We have requested NAQT IS-231 and are awaiting confirmation from NAQT. The same set is also being played at the Cavalier Classic. We shared the same NAQT set with UVA last year as well. We feel that this set and date will serve as a good tune up for upcoming VHSL Regional tournaments, and also will serve as a qualification opportunity for teams looking to qualify for SSNCT, HSNCT, and PACE-NSC.

This is a preliminary post to indicate that I will be coaching the Charter School of Wilmington (and, if NAQT, PACE and IQBT allow, a consolidated Wilmington Charter Team with students from Cab Calloway HS). We plan on organizing free- or reduced-cost tournaments for the broader DMV community and broader Mid-Atlantic. Priority is for public- and disadvantaged high schools. Free catered lunches, photo and press releases coordinated for your convenience.

To update on this:

We will be running the NAQT tournament on IS-237, however the date will actually be February 22nd (linked here). We will also be running the college tournament on MRNA IV, however the date has moved to 3/1 to avoid conflict with Rutgers's college DART IV mirror on 3/8 (linked here). Finally, we will be running a mirror of DART IV open to high school and college teams on 4/26.

TJ would like to move TJIAT off the DMV date claim calendar as it will instead be a nationwide online mirror of LOOT.

TJMST will have a new date of 5/3 per the original snow cancellation on 1/11, run on RQBCo Novice.

Both events are open to all middle / high school teams, regardless of location. Fort Defiance is using IAC's A set (same as GDS a few weeks ago), and Midlothian is using IAC's C set (same as GDS last fall). Both events qualify the top half of the field for nationals in DC in late April.

Both events are open to bowl teams and individual players for the bee (of course, soloing is allowed in the bowl). Registration closes on 3/24 for Midlothian and 3/31 for Fort Defiance.
