Jefferson City Invitational Jamboree at Jefferson City HS (Missouri) - November 9, 2024

Post by ScoBo »

The Jefferson City High School Scholar Bowl team is pleased to announce the Jefferson City Invitational Jamboree on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

This high school tournament will be in the 20 tossup/bonus format using CALISTO 3, which will be used by other tournaments in the state and throughout the country. Wash U is now also confirmed to be using the set for WUFAT on this same day. You must not attend any other tournament using the same question set if you participate in our tournament. A list of all tournaments using this set is available in the linked announcement thread. We will be using 15-point powers, no negs, and bonuses will not rebound.

The field is limited to 24 teams initially, which will be divided into preliminary pools for five morning rounds. After lunch, all teams will be rebracketed into championship and consolation pools for at least three afternoon rounds. The pool format could change depending on the final number of teams, but all teams should expect to play 8-10 rounds. We will award trophies to the top 3 teams, and medals and books to the top 15 individuals in the preliminary rounds.

Check in will run from 8:00 to 8:30 AM, with a brief team meeting before round 1 is scheduled to begin at 9:00. A one hour lunch break will begin around 12:30 PM, after which all teams will return to play the afternoon rounds. We anticipate the final round ending around 5:00 PM.

Jefferson City High School is located at 609 Union Street, Jefferson City 65101. There are multiple lunch options within 5 minutes of the school campus.

The entry fee is $75 per team, with a $5 discount for bringing a fully functional buzzer system for eight players, $10 for bringing a scorekeeper, and $15 for an experienced moderator.
