Booster Shot at WUSTL (4/13)

Post by njoshi1 »

WUSTL Quiz Bowl is pleased to announce we will be hosting a mirror site of Booster Shot, a 2-dot difficulty college tournament, on April 13th, 2024. I, Neal Joshi, will handle logistics until the day of the tournament, and Jeremy Cummings will be the Tournament Director. The opening meeting will be held at 8:45 AM CDT, with the first round beginning promptly at 9 AM CDT.

Location and Directions:
The tournament will take place in Eads Hall on the Danforth Campus.

Parking:
Free parking can be found in the Danforth University Center Garage and the adjacent parking lot.

Eligibility:
This tournament is for teams of eligible players representing a single institution of education. No "mixed" or "open" collegiate teams are permitted at this site.

Format:
Other than the fact that this tournament will use powers, the tournament will follow typical ACF gameplay rules. The tournament format will offer each team the maximum number of games possible within a reasonable timeframe, and will be determined in specific based on the number of teams who register. Statistics will be kept in full. Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated during the tournament.

Fees:
The fees for the tournament are as follows:
Base fee: $120
-$10 discount per working buzzer system
-$10 discount for teams that provide a staffer
-$10 discount per 200 miles traveled one way from your school to WUSTL as determined by Google Maps.
Minimum fee per team: $40

Registration:
Teams can register for this tournament by sending an email to [email protected]. Please cc Jeremy ([email protected]) when you send your registration email. When registering, please let us know how many teams, buzzers, and staffers you expect to bring. The initial field cap is set at 8 teams. The last day to register for this tournament will be April 10th 2024.

Payment:
All checks should be made payable to Washington University Quiz Bowl. Teams will be invoiced once they register.

Team Size:
Teams will consist of up to four active players and up to two substitutes for a total of six players per team. Players may not transfer between teams. Teams may play shorthanded, with fewer than four players, but there is no discount for doing so.

Prizes:
After the tournament concludes we will provide book prizes to the top team and top individual scorers.

Contact:
Any questions about the tournament can be directed to [email protected].
