Herron Classical Schools are eager to announce the first Achaean Invitational Tournament, a quiz bowl tournament for high school teams in and around the circle city. This tournament will be held at Herron-Riverside High School located at 3010 Whiteriver Parkway East Drive, Indianapolis IN on December 2nd, 2023. Overview

This tournament will use NAQT's IS-226, a level comparable to the IASP State Tournament. The purpose of using such a difficult list is to prepare new teams and players for the level of elite competition they can expect during the regular season. This tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the PACE-NSC.

Games will consist of two 10-tossup halves, with 3-part bonuses. There will be 15-point powers for early answers and 5-point negs for incorrect answers before the end of a tossup. There are no bounce backs on bonuses.

The finalized schedule will be sent out closer to the date, but a rough duration would be from 8am to sometime around 4pm, with included lunch break.

Registration

Registration will be through NAQT and requires a free account with NAQT. Teams consist of four players (more can rotate in and out as substitutions) if you have more than 7 players participating we recommend you register multiple teams. There is a multiple team discount.

Payment and Fees

Payment must be made by cash, accepted the day of the tournament, or by a check made out to "Herron High School Quiz Bowl." We will send an invoice with instructions to each team that registers.

Registration: $85 per team
-$10 for each working buzzer set with at least 8 working buzzers
-$10 new program discount, email tournament director to request this discount
-$25 off each additional team
Minimum fee of $60 per team
