Teams and Registration:

Teams can consist of up to 6 players, with up to 4 players playing at a time. Our field cap for this tournament is 16 teams, with the potential to expand if there’s demand and sufficient staff.

Register using this link!

Fee Structure:

To register a first team: +$90
To register additional team: +$75 / team
New to Quizbowl Discount: -$20 / team that has not played pyramidal quizbowl since 4/1/2021.
Staffer Discount*: -$25 / staffer
*We are also accepting outside staffers if we need them! They will also be paid $25 for staffing. Contact us with the methods below if you’d be interested in staffing. If your team is able to bring staff or you are a local person involved in quizbowl we would highly appreciate it if you did so!
Buzzer Discount: -$5 / set

Payment details will be sent out on invoices from the time of registration to at least a week prior to the tournament.

Rounds:

The particulars are still being worked out, but we’re guaranteeing at least 9 rounds, starting around 9 AM and ending before 6:30 PM.

We will have live statistics throughout the tournament.

Location:

We’re holding the tournament in person at 221 Concord Avenue, Belmont, Massachusetts (02478). There is a parking lot in front of the school, parking along Concord Ave, and an MBTA bus service with stops right by the school for transport.

Code of Conduct:

Everyone attending the tournament (parents, staffers, players, spectators) are expected to follow the PACE Code of Conduct, found here: http://www.pace-nsc.org/nsc-code-of-conduct/. Players who experience or witness misconduct should contact a TD (Sam Macchi or Cindy Gao) or email [email protected]. We will remove the perpetrator from the tournament and issue an appropriate punishment.

Misconduct can also be reported to https://tinyurl.com/qbmisconduct, though this is not managed by Belmont Quizbowl and may not be read at the time of the tournament.

Contact:

If you have any questions about the tournament, please message gumball machine#4339 on Discord or email [email protected].

More information will be emailed to teams closer to the tournament.

Thanks for reading this! We hope to see you at BAIT V, and we hope your quizbowl season is going well!
