Hi everyone, we at Scripps Ranch High School are pleased to announce the Scripps Ranch Novice Quizbowl Tournament which will be held on our campus on Saturday, December 10th.

QUESTION SET: The tournament will be played on the IS-212A packet set.

DATE/TIME: The tournament will take place on Saturday, December 10th 2022. Check-in will begin at 8:30 A.M., and matches will begin at 9:00 A.M.

LOCATION: The tournament will take place at Scripps Ranch High School, located at 10410 Falcon Way, San Diego, CA, 92131. Matches will be played in the 900 building and check-in will be in room 900.

REGISTRATION: Teams must register by emailing [email protected] with the following information: (1) the school's name, (2) the number of teams, (3) the number of buzzers. Registrations will be confirmed with a reply email. Replying to this thread will not register a team. The registration fee may be paid on-site with either cash or check.

ELIGIBILITY: All middle school players are eligible. Only high school players who have not scored 30+ PPG in a JV division of a tournament or 10+ PPG in a Varsity division of a tournament are eligible.

PRICING:
Schools that have not played any tournaments since, and including, the 2021-2022 season will pay a flat $40 per team.

$80 for the first team
$70 for subsequent teams

DISCOUNTS:
- $5 per working buzzer system (must accommodate at least eight players)
- $5 per 50 miles traveled one-way per school

Minimum fee: $40 per team

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
Teams will be allowed to have up to 6 players, but only 4 players can play at one time. Teams with more than 6 players will be asked to split into two teams. Teams will only be allowed to make substitutions at halftime.
We will be using official NAQT rules, with the exception that matches will be run as untimed halves of ten questions each. In addition, ACF rules will be followed regarding timing. As long as everything goes according to plan, there will be preliminary round-robin matches in the morning and playoff round-robins in the afternoon. If everything does not go according to plan, well, don't worry. We'll figure it out.

FOOD: A light breakfast will be provided before matches begin, and lunch can be obtained with about a 5-10 minute walk from campus up Treena Street.

INQUIRIES: Any inquiries can be resolved through emailing [email protected]

REGISTRATION: Register at: https://www.naqt.com/go/register/13531

We hope to see you on the 10th!
