2022 KICKOFF Novice (HS Novice, September-October 2022)

Post by oriley »

Hello!

This is the announcement post for 2022 KICKOFF Novice, a novice-difficulty version of 2022 KICKOFF.

Our understanding of “high school novice difficulty” is slightly easier than this year’s SCOP Novice, and slightly harder than this year’s CERES. The best approximation of this set’s target difficulty is 2020 TAILS.

Questions from KICKOFF will be adapted into questions for KICKOFF Novice. As such, players that play one may not play the other.

Our goal is to allow hosts who split their tournament fields into “competitive” and “novice” divisions to be able to use KICKOFF for their competitive division, and use KICKOFF Novice for their novice division. Mirror requests for tournaments exclusive to novices will also be acceptable.

The set will be available for mirrors starting September 10, 2022. Requests for mirrors later than October 31, 2022 will likely be rejected. Please email me at oriley1201 AT icloud DOT com to request a mirror of the set.

KICKOFF Novice is clear, except for packet 13 (which Owen will be reading in scrimmages online over the next little bit). The set can be found here once it is approved by a moderator.

I have to enter some of our stats into this sheet, but some basic stats can be found here.

Thanks to everyone who played the set, and to all of our hosts!
