WORKSHOP 2022 Playtest Mirror (Online, 2/20/2022)

The WORKSHOP 2022 team is pleased to announce that the online playtest mirror of WORKSHOP 2022 will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 over Discord. Mia McGill of the WORKSHOP 2022 Logistics Team will be serving as the Tournament Director for this mirror. More information about the set can be found here: viewtopic.php?p=384271#p384271

Time and Place:

This tournament will take place over Discord, on February 20, 2022, with the first round of gameplay beginning at 10 AM eastern. A link to the tournament Discord server will be sent to registered teams the week before the mirror.

Eligibility:

This tournament is open to all “open” players (that is, players not currently affiliated with any academic institution), as well as teams from WORKSHOP host schools composed of players who will staff or otherwise not play said institutions’ regional mirrors of WORKSHOP (as an additional note, we are still seeking host schools in several regions, as indicated in the main set announcement linked above. Please email us at quizbowlworkshop [AT] gmail [DOT] com if you would like to host in one of those regions. The set will be available for mirrors starting the weekend of February 26, 2022, and likely continuing through April or May).

We encourage all other teams to play their regional online mirrors, announcements for which are forthcoming; we anticipate having college mirrors in most regions between February and May 2022. If you do not fit either of those categories but would like to play this mirror, please contact quizbowlworkshop [AT] gmail [DOT] com explaining your situation.

However, teams must officially register by email in addition to filling out the team formation sheet in order to play the tournament.

The tournament field will be initially capped at 10 teams. This cap could expand depending on staff availability and team interest.

Payment:

The fee for this tournament will be $80 per team. Payment by Venmo is preferred, but if this does not work for you, please contact quizbowlworkshop AT gmail DOT com, and another form of payment can be arranged. Venmo payment information will be sent to teams prior to the tournament, and all teams will be expected to pay before the day of.

Code of Conduct:

The WORKSHOP production team is committed to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. We will not tolerate cheating or misconduct of any form, and all players and staff will be required to affirm a Code of Conduct prior to this tournament in order to participate in it.

We're hoping to reach our goal of ten teams, so we encourage anyone interested to sign up! Payment and logistics information will be sent out to teams by Friday, February 18th, and all teams will be expected to pay in full before receiving the link to the Discord.
