Boston College FEUERBACH: October 11
Boston College FEUERBACH: October 11
Hey,
Boston College will be hosting FEUERBACH on October 11th. I've been working on hammering details out with the administration and otherwise just some stress from the first week of school. If you're interested you can e-mail me at [email protected]. My name is Matthew Morris, I'll get more information about parking and what not up as soon as possible.

Oh no freaking way :) We'll probably bring a team or three. Is packet submission required for this mirror?

Hey,
You can contact me if you're interested in participating ([email protected]), so far I've heard interest from: Amherst, BU and MIT. Let me know if your team would like to participate or if you have any questions or need any help.
The rest of this post concerning fee structure/packet submission, I'm almost plagiarizing exactly from the University of Iowa's specifications (with different pricing though) as it addresses the important facts and is well stated:
Fee Structure
Base Fee: $90 per team
Buzzer Discount: $5 for each functioning system (max 1 per team)
Staff Discount: $10 per competent moderator (with my consent)
Travel Discount: $5 for each 100 miles beyond the first 100 (one way, as determined by Yahoo! Maps)
Packet submitted by September 13th: $25 off
Packet submitted by September 20th: no penalty
Packet submitted after September 20th: $10 penalty per day after the 20th
No Packet by September 27th: you can't play
Minimum fee: $70 per team
Packets
For a comprehensive question-writing guideline, both for formatting and distribution, see the ACF guidelines at http://www.hsquizbowl.org/acf/acf.html .
All packets should be directly submitted to Matt Weiner at [email protected] . Any questions regarding packets should also be sent to him. In particular, if you're a novice team that would still like to write a packet to receive a discount, be sure to contact him.
Specific details about location, starting times, etc. will appear in coming weeks.

I'd like to note that the ACF guidelines on who has to write also apply. That is, if your team consists entirely of people who did not play any mainstream collegiate tournaments before fall 2007, then you are exempt from the writing requirements. For teams with experienced players, the above schedule applies.

Hey here's a BC FEUERBACH update as far as tournament attendees might go:
Teams I've heard from:
Amherst
MIT (3??!)
Tufts
Hunter College
BU
BC (likely 2)
Please e-mail me, Matthew Morris at [email protected], if you're also in the area and would like to come, I just put in the room reqs and if we're lucky we're going to playing in the pretty new business building on campus with all the imaginable amenities.

Is that the field for the tournament right now or has it changed substantially?

Hey
I was just wondering if I could get some sort of roll call from those school who plan on coming to this tournament, so far I only have confirmations about Brandeis and Hunter, does anybody else plan to attend?
