I'm confused. You don't think either of your predicted top 2 non-playoff teams will also have some of the highest ppg?

Oh shoot, I was going to change my ballot significantly because it looked too much like everyone elses, which is no fun (except the one by TJ C, I guess). Is it too late, Fred?

Just for kicks and giggles I said Charlie was the best months ago, so just put it down for the RECORD.

Like, this doesn't necessarily mean I'm the best player in the country (Kurtis wasn't at PACE for comparison) and Shantanu playing solo may also be that good.

Sorry Mohit, but we felt that trying to get all four of our team with equal PPG would net you more points than having us win the championship. Unfortunately, that didn't go as planned.

Also, I find it suspicious that Simons was one TU away from second place individually and matching my prediction.

Since there was no consolation match for third, I am just going to make it so that your third and fourth place picks were picks for semi-finalists, and both were worth ten points.

There could have been, but my guess is that it wasn't done because it would have needed to be played separately from the final, which would have added an extra 45 minutes or so to the tourney length, which in turn would have meant I (and others) would get home an hour later. As is, we were out of there around 4:30 once the all star game ended.

If I calculate correctly I came out with 75 points, which is respectable I suppose. However, having called TJ winning NAQT and Whitman winning PACE at the beginning of the year, I'll still feel superior to all of you.

The power-matching algorithm leaves 3 teams with no losses at the start of round 5. As it turned out WJ was upset in the #13-#14 match, but #15 wound up playing the #16 card. I didn't catch that, so that's my fault and I am sorry if I missed something in any discussion on the theory of the schedule I had previously posted. At least as consolation WJ gets the consol semifinal trophy, but it is certainly my own fault that this wasn't so obvious to me after I printed everything up and the tournament had started (this would have required a vote of all the affected team captains according to our rules).

Next year if we do a 36-team card draw -- or if we do any other sort of card-draw -- for consols, I'll notate and make sure this situation does not put the #1 seed at that level of disadvantage.

Congratulations to noted person who wasn't involved in fixing games this weekend Harry White, who wins the $20 Amazon.com gift certificate.*

Unfortunately, Evan Silberman, who scored two points higher than White, ran around all weekend assaulting players mid-match in attempts to ensure that he would be able to fill his coffers with my twenty bux.

Seriously, if you see any factual issues with my scoring (remember - DCC beat Dorman B in the consolation finals), please let me know. If none are raised by 8 a.m. Wednesday EST, I'll send Harry his prize.
