Email I sent out in case anyone missed it:
--------------
The University of Delaware team is excited about hosting this
weekend's TRASH regionals. A few final bits of info:
- The opening meeting (9 am) is on the first floor of Purnell. One of
the brackets will be held in Kirkbride.
http://maps.rdms.udel.edu/campusmapbasi ... gcode=NW35
- We are fine on buzzers as long as everyone brings what they've
promised, with about 1 spare.
- Barring any changes, we have 20 teams total, so we'll be doing two
groups of ten. The crossover will be top 2, next 2, etc. I will
break any ties for second in a bracket with a 10 question mini-game,
as long as the tie is among four teams or less. Other ties will be
the usual tiebreakers. Every round counts in overall standings. If
someone goes 11-0, we're done. If there's a tie we'll have a one game
final. That's how many rounds we did last year and I believe we
concluded by 6pm.
- One of my least favorite features of UD's campus is that there is no
free parking. The Trabant Garage and Center for the Arts garage are
both close, as is the Visitor Lot across from Morris Library. I
believe the max rate on the weekend is $3.
- Any checks can be made out to Charter School of Wilmington.
See you then,

Final standings are up:
http://www.charterschool.org/clubs/acad ... dings.html
The final was won by 5 points, on tossup 20. Congrats to the two teams for dominating the field.
The closeness of the teams went further than that: There were three circles of death within playoff brackets. The teams are listed in the order they would appear if "points differential in games among the 3 teams" were used. But I just declared them all ties.
The bonus conversion stats are off because we didn't keep individuals for the last two rounds.
Thanks to:
Tim Young and Casey Reterer for moderating, as well as the Delaware ACC for hosting.
Teams for being good about time, so that we got through 11 rounds by around 6 as promised, and bringing all the promised buzzers.
I'm sorry that:
We had to use two buildings. We don't usually have trouble getting those rooms.
And me (of all people) reading a wrong packet. I regret the error.

In what otherwise is a huge improvement over how I used to handle it, and an excellent program, I've always wanted the option on SQBS to turn off individuals and bonus conversion in the playoff rounds.
Here's what it looked like before the final two games:

SQBS in fact has this capability. Just adjust the rounds used in the reports (I think it's under "Settings.")

That's how I got the 1-9 you see above.
What I want is the ability to put in just the scores for the last two rounds and have those scores and the wins/losses get included, but for SQBS to not attempt to add the score into the bonus points. When I don't include any player stats, it thinks all the points scored were bonus, which produces the skewed bonus conversion stats as noted above.
I guess I could add "Fake Player" onto every team's roster and give them all the individual scores for rounds 10 and 11.

Bill, thank you for running a quality tournament. Moderators were solid, and it ran largely on schedule -- so good job to you and your crew.
Well, it SUCKS greatly to be up 180 at the half and 35 after #19 only to lose by 5, but James, Jason and their teammates deserve a lot of credit for their comeback. Congratulations -- it was a final worthy of the top two teams in the field.

As of now, I'm currently the by-default stat boy for TRASH. Duly noted.Rothlover wrote:Hope whoever it is at TRASH that enters stats for bids notes the lack of data for the last two rounds, which spiked the bonus conversion by ~2/11ths
Currently I'm making my computations of the teams at Delaware for PPG based on all 11 games, but my TU% and PPB calculations on 9 games. It shouldn't matter that much.
