CANONINFLATION reading (12/7/23)

Post by Santa Claus »

thought it'd be fun to hold an online reading of CANONINFLATION on the Discord. slated for Friday 12/8 let's do Thursday 12/7 instead (8 PM ET I guess)

reading was held - fun was had by all (or at least by me). enjoyed seeing a lot of very good buzzes as well as being able to read some of my later clues to people

Code: Select all

Name 30	20	10	Total
kai smith [ex-UChicago] 4	12	11	470
Finn 1	4	8	190
Alex Li 2	5 160
Adam Smith [Palomar?]	3	2	2	150
richard (cornell)	1	4	3	140
Jeremy [WUSTL] 2	1 80
Jason Hong [Brown]	1 5	80
doughith 3	1	70
DMA 2	3	70
sinecio jhu 1	2	40
ali kinkaid 1	1	40
Matthew Lehmann (WUSTL) 1	2	40
Kevin Thomas (UNC alum) 1	1	30
Mason [Brown] 2	20
ar 1	10
Oscar O / Imperial 1	10
Also attending were Ani P, Kevin (Pomona), jaimiecarlson, Coby K. (CECI), Forrest [columbia], Orion L (Chamblee), and David Bass [JHU, PACE].

The overall breakdown of 30/20/10/0 was 15/36/43/170. Some facts that are fun:
  • 94 conversions means slightly fewer questions went dead than the CO reading (though not always the same ones).
  • 54% of questions were powered or superpowered.
  • Kai got the exact same number of points as Geoff did at the other reading - what does this mean? Probably nothing but it's an amusing coincidence.
  • Both Kai and Mason got a ":)" on the scoresheet for being pretty close on a question - several other people probably also deserve one but I didn't remember to take note.
  • Finn and Kai were the only participants to buzz correctly on more than half their buzzes - the lowest non-zero hitrate was 15%.
