Hello, Ridgewood High School's Quizbowl club is excited to host Maroon bowl lV in Ridgewood High School on Sunday, 4/16/23.

My name Is Joonho Oh, I along side Alex Khalitov will be the tournament directors of the tournament.

General Information:

-The tournament will run from 9 am to around 5:30pm, check in will open at 8 am.

-The tournament will play the 2023 Maryland Spring Classic/Hoosier Invitational question set, any inquiries into the set can be found here: viewtopic.php?p=392103&hilit=2023+Maryl ... al#p392103

-The tournament will be run using AFC rules for all rounds:

Fees:

-Fees can either be paid before or at check in, if you do not pay at or before check in we cannot let your team to play in the tournament

-$80 per registered team
-$30 fee for not bringing a reader in
-Each additional reader is a $10 discount
-$5 discount per working buzzer set (discount only applies up to 2 working sets)

-W9 forms can be provided upon request.
-When mailing or paying with checks please make the check out to "RHS ASSOCIATION"
-Please state what school is paying and that it is for Maroon Bowl on the front of the envelope
-This is very important if you drop any teams after 4/5, you will be liable to pay the full fee

Field:

-The initial is 24 teams be this can be expanded as we get more staff and buzzers

Food:

-There are many great options near the High school but here of some of our picks:

Renato's, affordable pizza only a 5-10 minute walk from the school
Tito's, standard tex-mex fare that is a bit further out but nonetheless is delicious
Jersey Mikes, a sub chain shop close to campus
Daily Treat, Standard American diner fare, it is recommended that you do take out if you choose this place
Poke Zone, pretty far out so take out recommended, it has good quality poke bowls and sushi along side Ramen and other dishes
Gong Cha, Bubble tea place, good place to cool off after the tournament

*Regarding pizza you can request to pre order either plain or pepperoni pizza pies on the form, the price and the availability of which will be sent out approaching the tournament date.

Due to the postponement of Maryland Spring to 2024, this tournament will now be on the SCURVY set. This is the same difficulty as Maryland Spring, so there should be no issues. Hope everybody can make it on the 16th.

Hello, as we are the tournament date there are few things to point out:

1. We are using ACF quizbowl rules for this tournament
2. We are not using Comp math tossups
3. We will be handing out book prizes for the top 10 scoring students in the preliminary rounds
4. The hard deadline to register for Maroon Bowl is 4/12 at midnight
