Prometheus Science Bowl 2023

Post by cryo »

We're excited to announce that Prometheus Science Bowl will be returning in 2023!

This winter, Prometheus will be coordinating a series of in-person science bowl invitationals across the country using Ignis, a set of beginner-level questions written specifically for these tournaments. Using the results from these invitationals and various other competitions, we’ll be inviting the top 48 teams in the country to compete at Olympus, a national-level online tournament with a prize pool of $25,000.

At these tournaments, we’ll be including a category based on existential risk, or X-risk for short. Existential risks are events that have the potential to eliminate all of humanity or permanently stagnate its development. Because these events would be catastrophic in nature, Prometheus aims to make these issues more well-known and provide opportunities to address them.

To be notified when these tournaments are announced, you can join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/prometheus and fill out the short form at https://prometheus.science/interest-form. We hope to see you there!

If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them here! You can also DM me on Discord at cryo#3499 or email us at contact AT prometheus DOT science.
