Teams should arrive and check in from 8:30 AM EST to 9:00 AM EST. We will try to start the tournament at 9, and hope to end it by 6:30, letting each team play 10 rounds.

We plan to have lunch after Round 5. We’ll also be taking a quick break to rebracket at the end of prelims, after Round 7. During this time, we’ll announce the top 10 scorers and let them choose book prizes. We also plan on awarding a neg prize :)

Rounds will be untimed 20 tossups/bonuses that will NOT include computational math. We will use 15 point powers and 5 point negs.

Location:
The tournament will be held at Belmont High School. We are located at 221 Concord Ave, Belmont, MA 02478. Teams driving in will be able to park in the parking lot. During lunch break, teams can eat at Belmont Center, within walking distance of the high school.

COVID Protocol:
Masks are encouraged indoors, and teams should eat lunch outside of the school. Please do not attend if you are symptomatic.

Code of Conduct:
Everyone attending the tournament (players, coaches, staffers, spectators, etc) is expected to follow the PACE Code of Conduct: http://www.pace-nsc.org/nsc-code-of-conduct/. Players who experience or witness misconduct should contact a TD (Ella Sheffield or Cindy Gao) or email [email protected] . We will remove the perpetrator from the tournament and issue an appropriate punishment.

Misconduct can also be reported to https://tinyurl.com/qbmisconduct, though this is not managed by Belmont Quizbowl and may not be read at the time of the tournament.
