Morristown-Beard Invitational (4/30/22)

Post by JYermack »

Hello Everyone!
I am pleased to announce Morristown-Beard's 3rd Annual Invitational!

The tournament will take place on 4/30/22 in-person, with check-in starting at 8am and play starting at around 9am. There will be around an hour for lunch, which we will not provide, but we will give a list of places around the school which teams are encouraged to go to. We will be using the IS-211A question set and standard rules (20 tossup rounds with bonuses, no timed halves), and no comp math in neither tossups or bonuses. Unlike prior MBS Invitationals, we will not be running a bracket-style tournament and will instead be doing a round-robin style Prelims and Playoffs with 5 rounds in both the morning and afternoon. Registration can be done here. (Should be open now!)

Unlike the previous 2 years, this year we will have a field cap of 18 teams, however this is subject to change if we gain enough interest and staffers. Schools from all over America welcome (EST preferred), although if you have played in a tournament that has already used the IS-211A question set, you will be ineligible to play.

Prices:
$90 First team
$80 Each subsequent team
-$30 Per experienced staffer
-$20 Per complete buzzer set
$50 minimum charge

We will be accepting payment via cash or check on the day of the tournament, as well as by venmo (which will go out in the logicstics email closet to the tournament).

We hope to see you there!

Hello, Everyone! A few updates to the tournament!

We have shifted to be in person (the first post contains all the relevant information you need to know), and we have slightly increased the field size to 18 teams in order to better organize our brackets.
We are still in need of moderators and buzzers! We highly encourage teams to bring some of either (or both!) so that we can ensure that this tournament runs as smoothly as possible!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
Thanks!
