HFT XIV Online Mirror (May 23rd, Closed)
Hello all,
Due to the cancellation of our remaining physical HFT mirrors, Harvard College Bowl is pleased to announce an online mirror of the 14th annual Harvard Fall Tournament on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020.
Logistics:
The tournament will be held on discord. Round 1 will start at 10 AM EDT, and players should aim to be on the server by 9:45 AM.
Registration:
A field cap of 24 teams is being set, though we may change this depending on interest. Team sizes are capped at 4 players. We will have a first-come, first-served waitlist if there are more teams than our field size.
Kelvin Li will be the tournament director. To register, email [email protected] or post in this thread. Please include "HFT Online Mirror Registration" in the email subject, and specify the number of teams. Registrations are not complete until we respond in some fashion saying so! Team rosters are not required to register, and you can alter your registration at any point before the drop deadline with no penalty.
Fees:
Tournament fees are as follows:
$60 per attending team
$30 per single player team
Teams dropping out after 10:00 PM EDT on Friday, May 22nd will still be responsible for the entirety of the fee, even if no longer attending (we will make exceptions for valid emergencies at our discretion). The preferred method of payment is to Venmo @K-Li--1. If you need to pay by another method, please indicate so in your registration email and we will work out details. Invoices will be provided upon request.
Regarding Cheating: Many of you are probably aware of the recent controversies regarding cheating at online quiz bowl tournaments. Although we hope this is obvious, do not attempt to cheat at this tournament. If we find strong evidence suggesting any player or team has cheated at this tournament, we will inform you coach and/or the relevant quiz bowl organizations. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.

Thank you to all teams who have already registered! As we've reached our soft field cap, we're excited to announce that we will be expanding the field once we reach 20 total teams. Make sure to sign up if you are interested in playing.
Edit: Field has been expanded to 20 teams.
