Texas Invitational XI [CANCELLED]

Texas Quiz Bowl Alliance and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory are pleased to announce Texas Invitational XI, which will be held on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. Texas Invitational is the premiere pre-nationals high school tournament, and we hope to attract talented competitors from around the country to test their abilities against other top teams on challenging, high-quality question sets.

On Saturday, we will be using Longhorn Invitational Tournament (LIT), “a medium-difficulty tournament that will be more difficult than EFT but also noticeably below the difficulty of ACF Regionals.” More information about LIT can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22780

On Sunday, we will be using the Spring TJ Advanced Scholastic Housewrite (STASH), a nationals-level set similar in difficulty to PACE NSC. More information about STASH can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=109&t=22865

Format: As the tournament date approaches and we have a better understanding of how many moderators are available for this tournament, we will post an update as to the preliminary and playoff formats that we will use, as well as whether we will use the PACE NSC rule variations for Sunday’s tournament.

As with previous years, all teams will play at least ten matches in both events. Each event is limited to a maximum of 24 teams. Registration is $250 for one event or $450 for both events and lunch is included both days. For teams with demonstrable financial need, assistance in the form of discounted entry fees is available.

Logistics: Strake Jesuit’s address is 8900 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77036. Games will be played in Agee Hall. A map of Strake Jesuit’s campus can be found here. Lunch will be provided both days.
