I am pleased to announce that the University of Minnesota will be hosting Spring Undergraduate Novice (SUN) on Saturday, March 28, 2020. This tournament will take place in Nicholson Hall, with registration starting at 8:30 AM and play beginning at 9:00 AM.

Registration
Please email [email protected] with the number of teams you are bringing, the total number of individuals on each team, and any discounts (found below) you wish to claim.

Fees
Base Fee: $120 per team
Buzzer discount: -$5 per complete, functioning buzzer system
Travel discount: -$10 per 200 miles traveled one direction
New team discount: -$20 if your team has not attended any tournaments in the 2018-2019 academic year

There will be a minimum fee of $60 per team.

Please bring checks made out to the "University of Minnesota Quizbowl Team" on the day of the tournament.

Eligibility
This will be a closed tournament. Teams must be affiliated with a college/university. High school teams will not be permitted.
Because this is intended to be a novice tournament, we ask that you treat this tournament like another iteration of NAQT Novice and bring players whose first year of collegiate quizbowl is 2019-2020 and/or players who have not won an individual scoring prize at a tournament in 2019-2020 (excluding NAQT Novice).

We will begin with an initial field cap of 12 teams, and expand as more teams register. The field will be updated below.

This tournament has been canceled in response to coronavirus. We are open to hosting our mirror sometime in the next academic season, but we don't have an official plan right now. Thank you to everyone who expressed interest!
