Masonics 2018
Good luck to all teams!
To follow the tournament go to the website. The Masons usually do a very good job putting up results within hours of them getting sent in. We are very fortunate to have the support of the Masons, who allow all teams to compete for free and allow many teams to make money by hosting and/or doing well, which in turn makes it easier for teams to attend Nationals and fund their teams.
The questions this year will be used at other sites outside Illinois in March, so do not post any question content here or anywhere else on the internet/social media until you have my permission to do so, which is likely to be after you have lost interest in making that post. If you have a concern with a question, please contact me and/or request the creation of a private forum. I want to know about problems with any questions, but like I said refrain from making the question content public.
Alex Dzurick wrote Astronomy, Consumer Education, Current Events, Earth Science, Grammar/Usage, Health, Journalism, Musical Theater, and Psychology, which totals 54 questions. Noah Prince wrote Geography, U.S. Literature, and World Literature, which totals 102 questions. I wrote the rest, and Jonah and I edited.

Anybody know anything about 2A results other than Marengo and Carlinville? The others are posted, but 2A is missing.

Re: Masonics 2018
Is it just me, or does the 2A field look more stacked than the 3A field?
Re: Masonics 2018
While Southwestern and Latin are both very good teams, which I think are T-2 as far as 2A goes, and I truly think that Uni is the best team in the state when playing 5v5, 3A still blows 2A out of the water.dtaylor4 wrote:Is it just me, or does the 2A field look more stacked than the 3A field?
Auburn, Fremd, Stevenson, IMSA, and OPRF are all pretty safely better than the 2nd best 2A teams. (As in they can lose games but I think they would win more than they lose)
Mahomet, Carbondale, and Sandburg are all really close to Southwestern and Latin as well.
That is 8 3A teams that are roughly equal to, or above, the 2nd and 3rd best 2A teams. The 2A field is the best it as ever looked but it is nowhere near "more stacked than 3A."
EDIT: I also forgot to mention Macomb and Williamsville for 2A. These teams are both very good, and in my mind 4th and 3rd place at state respectively.

Re: Masonics 2018
I should have clarified - by stacked I mean within the division. Depending on the pools, I would not bet against one of Uni, SW or Latin going home “empty handed” (you still get $100 if you don’t place)TylerV wrote:While Southwestern and Latin are both very good teams, which I think are T-2 as far as 2A goes, and I truly think that Uni is the best team in the state when playing 5v5, 3A still blows 2A out of the water.dtaylor4 wrote:Is it just me, or does the 2A field look more stacked than the 3A field?

Re: Masonics 2018
Hello.
Did anyone by chance see a blue/black and red jacket with a Daniel Biss for Governor pin attached to it left behind at Bloomington High School? We checked all the game rooms, the cafeteria, and the library but couldn't find it.
