(This) Tournament is a Crime at Maryland (March 4, 2017)

Post by sarangyeola »

This post will serve as the announcement for the Maryland site of (This) Tournament is a Crime. As this tournament is open, there are no eligibility requirements.

Location and Time:
Games will take place in Jimenez Hall on the University of Maryland campus. The opening meeting will begin at 8:45 am and rounds immediately after.

Payment and Fees:
The payment schedule follows from that of the main site:

Base Fee - $150
$10 discount per working buzzer
$30 discount per competent moderator
$50 discount if all members of the team attend the same institution

Please bring payment on the day of the tournament in the form of cash or a check made out to the "Maryland Academic Quiz Team." If we deem that your moderator is not capable or your buzzers are not working, you will not receive a discount.

Registration:
Please send me an e-mail at [email protected] with the number of teams that you intend to bring and any buzzers or staffers that you will supply. If I do not respond within two days, feel free to send another e-mail. I have created a spreadsheet with an up-to-date list of the field.

We look forward to seeing you in College Park!

This tournament is still happening in less than 2 weeks and we'd like to see more teams sign up. If you are interested in playing but don't have a team, please email me at [email protected] and I will try to connect you with other free agents.

We are still taking sign-ups for this tournament, so if you're interested in playing this tournament please let me know!

Also, as several people have expressed interest, we will also be mirroring the Historically Intensive Tournament (HIT) side event. The format of play is yet to be decided.
