Henderson High is please to announce its first tournament in West Chester, PA on November 22, 2014. Henderson is using NAQT IS-142 set.

The format is to be determined at this point.

Henderson High School is located at 400 Montgomery Ave, West Chester, PA. Henderson is located one mile from the Paoli Pike exit on U.S. 202. Parking is on the east side of Montgomery Avenue. There is another parking on the west side (left-hand side driving north on Montgomery Ave next to the football field). Further directions and parking information will be posted at a later date.

To register, please email me at [email protected]. Please designate the number of teams registered, the number of buzzer systems, and qualified moderators that you are bringing.

Fee Structure
$60 For first registered team
$50 For all subsequent teams
-$5 per buzzer
-$ 10 per moderator
The minimum fee is $30 per team.



The current field cap is 36 teams.

Quick results:

Emmaus beat Manheim Township A with a 380-250ish score to win the tournament.

The 3rd place match saw the 1-person Lehigh Valley Charter team defeat West Chester East A.

I think the 3-2 playoff teams (and thus 5th place) were PALCS B and Unionville A, but that could be incorrect.

The full stat report will follow. Ben Herman and I had the first nine rounds put into SQBS, but had to fill in for some staff in the final round. Once Ben finishes that, he will post the report.

I could give the prelims report, but apparently I can't upload a stat report for a tournament I don't own in the database. (Or at least, I can't figure out how to do so.)

Emmaus defeated Manheim Township A 400-260 in the final to claim their first ever quizbowl tournament victory, after a half packet tiebreaker with West Chester East to get into said final. Lehigh Valley Academy defeated West Chester East 365-160 to take 3rd. The 5th place teams were Unionville A and PALCS B.

Thank you to all the teams for coming out to Henderson! I hope that everyone had a good time.

Thanks for the clarification. The coach and students at Henderson did a great job hosting the tournament; a slip of the finger is certainly understandable. (I made a much more serious error while reading a bonus question yesterday.) Still, would it be possible to correct these stats, especially if Alex's numbers are going to be so closely scrutinized? Thanks again.

I can't edit the entry in the tournament database as we put it under coach Sobieck's name, and he sent me a few wrong passwords locking me out. The offical stats I submitted to NAQT were corrected and the stats on their page properly reflect that match. I will get to edit the tournament database as soon as I can.

Without the 10 phantom negs, Alex remained the top scorer of the tournament after all rounds, not just the prelim.
