Where the Chip Teams Are
In the interest of promoting successful outreach efforts among local quizbowl advocates and tournament directors, I and several other members of PACE put together this list of the names and addresses of the high school teams that attended the 2014 NAC. If you know that one of these schools is near a tournament you're hosting, do take the effort to send them an invitation (via the US Postal Service, if you need to), and encourage them to attend more competitions on quality questions in their surroundings, so they develop personal connections to a less tarnished alternative. In many cases, teams simply don't know what other options are out there since they aren't directly contacted.

In case you're wondering whether your area has teams which you could reach out to, and help bring into your tournament circuit, here is the list of states and territories which sent a team to the 2014 NAC, sorted from most teams to least at that event:
New York (21)
Texas (9 or 10)
Michigan (7)
Arkansas (6)
Oklahoma (6)
Pennsylvania (6)
Alabama (4)
Louisiana (4)
Nebraska (4)
New Jersey (4)
Illinois (3 or 4)
Colorado (3)
Georgia (3)
Iowa (3)
North Carolina (2)
Ohio (2)
South Carolina (2)
Tennessee (2)
Washington State (2)
Guam (1)
Indiana (1)
Maryland (1)
Mississippi (1)
Virginia (1)
US Virgin Islands (1)

I'm almost certain that Plano is the one from Texas.

Did Somerset from Kentucky actually attend NAC? I don't even think they fielded a quick recall team in KAAC play this year.

Re: Where the Chip Teams Are
The "Stevenson" there is almost certainly the Washington Knowledge Bowl team of that name (which attended the 2013 NAC).

Re: Where the Chip Teams Are
"Berlin" is Berlin Central (NY), not Berlin (WI). (link)

Re: Where the Chip Teams Are
Are you sure that they competed this year?
Re: Where the Chip Teams Are
They did, as the following "Documento sin título" can attest: http://qunlimited.com/Varsity.Rank.htm. I think what happened is that, in tracking down the addresses for recent attendees, I merged the 2014 entry for "Harrison" with the 2013 entry for "William Henry Harrison High School" without copying over the note that they competed in 2014.Yellow-throated Honeyeater wrote:Are you sure that they competed this year?

Re: Where the Chip Teams Are
Really quite shocking to see a team from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I'll definitely try to get in touch with them.
