Georgia Yale BOB mirror- Bulldogs over Broad Street

Post by UGAQuizdogs »

The UGA CBAT would like to announce that it is mirroring the Yale Bulldogs over Broadway tournament on Oct 29, 2005, at the UGA Student Learning Center.

While we are getting what we hope is a sufficient number of packets from Yale, teams are welcome to hone their skills and submit packets. Listed below is the Yale fee structure, along with discounts and the like. Please note that due to the sort of short amount of time (one month tomorrow), I have changed the packet discounts a bit:

Fees:
Base fee $100
Working Buzzer discount -$5 (limit 2 discounts)
Minimum fee (with packet discounts listed below) $60

BOB is a packet-submission tournament, and here are the requirements.

Send me a packet of: 25 tossups/25 bonuses (aim for around ACF
regionals difficulty or maybe a little easier) NOTE:If you submit a pack to UGA, you only need 22/22 of the same calibre.

Packet specifics:

4/4 History
4/4 Literature
4/4 Science
2/2 of any of the above three (no more than 1/1 of each discipline)
3/3 Fine Arts (music, painting, architecture, etc.)
3/3 Religion/Myth/Philosophy
2/2 Social Science
1/1 Geography/Current Events
2/2 Miscellaneous (General Knowledge, Multi-disciplinary, Trash, or
more from previous categories)

Packet discounts/deadlines:
Fri. October 7 -$20
Sat. Oct. 15 -$10
Fri. Oct. 21 +$10
Oct 22 onward $+40

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks

So far we have Florida St, Seth Kendall and maybe a UGA House team (it's our fall break PLUS GA-FL weekend, so....)

Billy, will FSU be doing a packet?

Wish we could go, but we're hosting our HS tourney that day.

Packet? Sure, why not. Expect it around the 21st though.
I have a feeling this tournament would be over by 3:30 or so...

It all depends on when kickoff is.... :) Besides, it's the end of the game that matters!

I was looking over the Tulsa mirror and teams attending there don't have to submit a packet. C'mon Robin, you should do that. I don't feel like writing a packet, but I also don't want to pay an extra $40.

Well....I guess you twisted my arm. :)

Ive been talking to the Yale people and they're saying they're getting a lot of good packets. However, if you are interested in submitting a packet, please send it to the people up at Yale and they'll take care of it for us.

So once again, if you want to send in a packet, that's fine. If you dont, that's fine too.

Of course, I find it funny you wanted to write a packet and then renegged. In some cases (planning a tournament and all being held the same day), I dont blame you.

So far it's still Seth Kendall, FSU and a GA team. Im still hoping the usual suspects will contact me.

I never *wanted* to write a packet, nor did I ever renege saying I would.
The only thing that is funny is how badly UF played today. I know we can agree there.

The UGA Mirror of Yale's BOB has been POSTPONED. We're thinking of rescheduling either Jan 7, 2006 or Jan 28, 2006. If you're interested or have a better date suggestion, please email me at [email protected]

Thanks!

The Georgia mirror of the Yale BOB tournament has been moved to January 28, 2006 (the 20th anniversary of the Challenger disaster).

More details forthcoming...
