Huskie Bowl at Northern Illinois University, 2 Feb 2013

Post by TheDoctor »

The Northern Illinois University Huskie Bowl is happening this year on Saturday 2 February 2013. As in past years, we will host a Competitive division for extremely experienced teams as well as a Standard division. Both divisions will use Chattahoochee High School's housewrite. The tournament is initially capped at 18 teams, but this number may rise with interest from teams and moderators.

The fees for the tournament are as follows:
$60/team
-$10/additional team from a school
-$5/working buzzer
-$10/experienced staffer (an additional -$5 if the staffer brings a laptop)

There are no registration forms for this tournament. To register, please email [email protected] with the number of teams you would like to register, which division(s) you wish to enter, and which discounts you will be eligible for. Due to our low initial cap, B teams will be waitlisted until 18 January 2013.

Please put Fenton down for 1 team in the Competitive Division. We will bring 1 buzzer and I can staff.

Just a reminder that B teams will be added to the field this Friday (18 Jan). Given staffing concerns, this will effectively close the field, so get your registrations in by Friday if you're interested in attending.

An alert to teams already signed up:

The HSAPQ set that will be used in this tournament is going to be played at Wheaton North's F/S tournament on 26 Jan. If any team from your school is going to play at Wheaton North on the 26th, I ask that you choose not to participate in the Huskie Bowl.

We will be switching sets to avoid the massive conflict with Wheaton North's tournament. I will post further details after I have contacted teams about the changes later tonight.

The field will be updated tonight, and will likely be finalized within the next few days.

The tournament will use Chattahoochee's housewrite instead of HSAPQ spring. The initial post has been changed to reflect both this and the lower entry fee resulting from the use of a less expensive set.

Thank you to the coaches and players who provided feedback and helped us find a new set while we were working this out. Thank you to everyone attending for their understanding and patience.

Rockford Auburn has been admitted to the field because they offered a moderator with their teams, allowing us to stretch the field slightly.

Keith B has been forced to drop, so we can accommodate one more team in the Standard Division. If your team is likely to field more than 7 players, please consider sending an additional team.
