LIFT (Long Island Fall Tournament) XII will be held on October 20, 2012 at Kellenberg Memorial High School, Uniondale, NY.

Information concerning LIFT XII:

- $60.00 First team, $50.00 each additional team
- Discounts: $10.00/buzzer system, $10.00/moderator, $10.00/100 mile travel (based on Google maps from town to Uniondale, NY): maximum total discount $50.00
- NAQT IS-120 (20/20 untimed)
-We will have prelim. brackets, and then ranked playoff brackets and then crossover games.
- Location: Kellenberg Memorial HS in Uniondale, Long Island, NY, 30 miles E of NYC, right off of Exit M4 West from the Meadowbrook Parkway. Recommendation: Those coming from the south of NYC should NOT go through the city. Use the Outerbridge or Goethals to Staten Island, then the Verazzano-Narrows to LI.
- Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., with the first round starting at 8:45 a.m. The award ceremony should be around 6:00 p.m.

28 teams. Prelims were 4 groups of 7. Top 3 from each bracket went to 2 playoff brackets of 6 each. Final crossover game to determine places 1 to 12.

Interesting note: 4 of the 6 crossover games came down to either the second to last or last question.

As a senior from the Hunter team, I would like to thank Brother Nigel for running another excellent LIFT. LIFT was the first tournament I attended five years ago and has been a tournament that I have looked forward to ever since. The tournament was smoothly run and I would like to thank everyone at Kellenberg for that.

This means that the top 25% of teams in your tournament (rounded up to the nearest integer) will qualify for our national high school quizbowl championship, the PACE NSC (details pending). The qualifying teams will get to register early for the NSC starting on December 1st."

Thought you might want to know. So that means Millburn A, High Tech C, St. Joe's, High Tech A, Hunter, Ridgewood A, and High Tech B all qualify. Congrats.
