Funny answer

Post by rcline »

Some of you oldsters may have seen this one on the NAC intro trailer some years back. The question started something along the lines of "Her facelift had a pricetag of $70 million..."

I buzzed in at that point and said "Elizabeth Taylor".

The correct answer was, of course, "The Statue of Liberty".

Yeah. After that one, Reinstein made sure to emphasize that when you're prompted, you don't change your answer entirely.

At a practice recently, I caught myself saying "Hindenburg uncertainty principle."

Wrong answer: Collard greens
Right answer: haggus

At HSNCT, one of the members of TJ A said "To The Lighthouse" instead of flop on that TU, don't feel bad about it. It's on the podcasts for eternal posterity. He buzzed in really early on "The first part to be revealed is called the window".

Q: "This psychologist...blah blah...Name this writer of Walden Two."

Immediate buzz

A: (Enthusiasticallly): THOREAU!

The only good part is that you could visibly see everyone else in the room do a colelctive cringe in pain. (the player claimed later that she knew it was wrong, but couldn't stop herself when she heard "Walden".

This was probably the worst neg ive ever had in my life...im normally good at math tossups but the last half of last year and now this year, im not getting them because ive forgotten in all these years of calculus how to do simple arithmetic...this was even worse

"something about 600 and 500"
basically you had to double 600 and add 500...easy enough
i wrote down 650 instead of 600 so i overshot the answer by 100
