Brick Tamland Invitational Tournament (BTIT)

Post by JMAC the Chef »

We at Truman State University are pleased to announce the first and hopefully annual Brick Tamland Inivitational Tournament. The tournament will be held April 14, is open to all college teams, and will be entirely house-written. There will be themed packets, featuring 10 instead of the usual 20 questions. Expect a diverse range of subjects on display for the tournament, which will still strive to adhere to "typical trash ratios." If you are interested in attending this fine fine tournament please feel free to message me at [email protected] Please no bush league questions and remember "no touching of the hair or face."

This is the same day as UIUC's mirror of Minnesota Undergraduate Tournament (not to mention other mirrors). My guess is that some teams (including definitely ours) will want to attend both, so there might be an issue with that.

Also, I'm (obviously) not complaining about this, but isn't the fee structure somewhat cheap for a college event?

We were a little concerned with it being too late in the year if we didn't schedule it before April 14. Obviously, if there's enough demand, we could look at other dates that would work better for teams. (Paging Jared here)

We found this particular date to be the most feasible and non-conflicting of the weekends left in the semester. But if there is a more workable day available and I am not adverse to rescheduling for then. As far as fee structure, this isn't really a money making grab for us and since it's an inaugural event I didn't want to overcharge people for something brand new. It's a labor of love more than anything else.

I really hope you decide to attend our MUT mirror instead. Perhaps we can work something out with regard to hosting this on Sunday (depending on interest, etc.)...

Theme Packets

Post by JMAC the Chef »

Just as a teaser for this tournament, we are going to be running theme packets for all of our rounds. A select few we are willing to reveal at this time are: Pokemon, Nickelodeon, Rap, and Disney. If you have any interest in any of these packets, we still have plenty of spots open and would love to see you in Kirksville on March 24.

Hey everyone, unfortunately due to a lack of registering teams, we will not be hosting BTIT this coming weekend. However, our packets will still be available for organizations interested in mirroring. If you have any interest in mirroring, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Not to be a dick or anything, but these packets need a ton of work. I hope you guys plan to edit them heavily and completely rewrite a large amount of the questions.

Joey, can you forward specific questions/problems within packets that you remember to Jared's e-mail address when you get the chance? (I sent it to you in a PM) I know we would prefer to get any problems with the packets resolved immediately.

EDIT: Ok, dude, if you're going to post that the packets suck, I don't think it's too unreasonable to respond to repeated requests since APRIL for examples from the tournament of what questions/packets caused problems. Seriously, that's the most fucking annoying thing you could possibly do.
