I have updated my post about combined-field qualification for ICT; the champions of SCT sites with at least four teams always receive autobids.

Just a reminder that tomorrow night is the deadline for invitations; if you haven't contacted us, please do so as soon as possible (even if that's just to say "we'd like an extension until March 1st").

Invitation emails seem to indicate that tonight is the deadline, not tomorrow night.

I attempted to register on NAQT's website but encountered technical errors. I've emailed Chad, but could you grant us an extension until March 1? Thank you.

If you're referring to the discount at the Hyatt hotel, the best thing to do is to call them when making the reservation and just mention that you'll be attending ICT.

2 circles of death in our DII bracket; we, Northwestern, and GMU are tied for 2nd place with 5-2 (we lost to Northwestern who lost to GMU); Chicago took first, Maryland is 5th, Cornell, Illinois, and Valencia are tied for 6th at 1-6 (Illinois beat Cornell who beat Valencia).

Congratulations to Harvard, the 2011 ICT Division I champions. Harvard defeated Minnesota in the first game of an advantaged final.

In Division II, Yale defeated Chicago A in the first game of an advantaged final.

The Top Community College team was Chipola A.

If I'm reading the stats correctly, three of the top seven DI teams (including the champions) consisted of all undergraduates.

Come on dude, everyone knows undergrads can't compete with grad students! That's, like, a quizbowl axiom or something!

So is the fact that Alabama will get crushed at national competitions by just about everyone. Alas, I finally get to say it without people thinking that I am a complete moron. YOUR ARE WRONG
--
Alright, enough said about that. First off, I'd like to congratulate Harvard for winning their second consecutive title (and for a certain Mr. Watkins dedicating the victory to me of all people, I knew I was an inspiration all along) and Minnesota for another great performance - the final was thrilling for me, as well. Congratulations on an outstanding achievement.

I'd like to thank Chris Ray, Matt Bollinger, and others for great battles throughout the day, you guys are quite exceptional players and I must say that our loss to Maryland was probably the most heartbreaking one of my career, but it was a match that I'll remember forever and I'm happy I was a part of it. Thank you so much for a memorable day.

Thanks goes out to the staff of this tournament, including but not limited to: Matt Weiner (yes I am thanking you), Chris Borglum, Eric Kwartler and any other moderators I may not have recognized - your reading was exceptional as always.

Ah, what a fun tournament.

I seem to recall some threats about coming to Pittsburgh next weekend, but I guess you were too busy posting to write a packet.

Congratulations to Harvard for putting together the first DI title run by an undergrad team and the first DI championship repeat, and to Yale and Chipola for winning the DII and CC titles. I saw the DI and DII finals and was very impressed by the level of play in both; I was similarly impressed throughout the day while reading in DI.

I hope everyone had a good time. I also hope more people will join in the discussion of the set so that next year's set can improve on this one.

Actually our lack of attendance is due to some financial stuff that I'm not going to discuss because I'm simply not happy with it, but that's an issue for another day, and will be fixed. If you don't think I'm pissed off that we're not going to Pittsburgh, you'd be wrong once again. Anyway, this is the ICT thread so I believe it's inappropriate to discuss these matters here. Best of luck at Jerry Bowl to everyone attending. Sorry we can't be there, this was beyond my control.

I wouldn't normally quibble about small statistical details, but this one seems worth considering. Oxford and Virginia heard 21 tossups in their game, but it was listed as 31. Is it not true that subtracting 10 from the total number of tossups heard by Matt Bollinger would make him the overall leading scorer in the prelims? One of the players on the Oxford team wanted me to point this out and also to point out for him how impressed everybody at Oxford was by Matt's performance.
