Eric Mukherjee is not "mysterious."
Who among us truly knows Eric?
It would help if he would stop wearing that cape and cowl everywhere he goes. Unless "Eric Mukherjee" is the disguise.

I don't think we heard confirmation from Minnesota, but Maryland would still like to mirror MO.

You heard confirmation from us quite a while ago! I had a multiple-email conversation with Logan about this :-/

(in which we confirmed that yes we would be totally okay with you hosting a mirror and then we worked out most of the details of it)

Word. Sorry about that, I ask them not to tell me too many things to make sure I've got enough brain room cleared leading up to the release of Aliens vs. Predators III.

Announcement of Maryland site forthcoming tonight.

Cool. Please try to avoid the 11/20 date since VCU (and its usual cohorts) are hosting a HS tournament that day but would like to attend this.

My team for this no longer exists. I am looking for a new team. I already bought hotel and airfare so I won't cancel on you.

It sure is delightful to be informed of my team's totally unexpected dissolution by browsing the hsqb forums instead of by, you know, receipt of even one email or pm!

It looks like Bentley/Davis will be combining forces with Arthur/Yetman. This tournament doesn't have any science, right?

Michigan is probably only going to bring 1 team to this event, but will most likely have more than 4 people. If interested in a teammate, let us know.

It'd be appreciated (anything would, really, especially if they were inclined towards writing science), but it's not required; we should be able to cover for that with editors' packets.

We'll work on something. However, Michael and Phil are not coming to this, and Surya is on the packet-writing team, so you may not get that much science (if any).

Also:

I'm planning to show up with Penn to the Maryland site at this point - I can contribute the 4/4 science to one team's packet assuming I can talk to rob about what to write about. [This is assuming penn doesn't write a packet]

Off the top of my head:

Mike Bentley's VAIN (videogame thing), various other videogame things
apparently Ike Jose has some goofy lit packet
Andrew Hart's music thing?
maybe Eyes That Do Not See II?

We're a little hampered on Sunday by the fact we get something of a late start, so we can't run a ton of events, although we could always try last year's strategy of burning some events at Mayo. I may or may not cobble together a packet for the amusement of the children.

I was probably going to run the prelims of my thing over lunch on Saturday (it should only take about 30 minutes). The finals could be right after MO (would take about 20 mins) or on Sunday, depending on travel plans.

If the whispered-about RPG event is still in the cards, I have a packet for that. It would need to finish pre-1:30ish on Sunday given my flight arrangements.

I've made a long-overdue update to the packet/field list; I'd really like to hear soon from Magin and his team about when their packet might be coming. I've heard rumblings about packets from various teams at the east and west coast sites; those teams will surely receive some sort of discount.

We've still got room for more teams, as should be obvious; in particular I'd like to hear about Toronto's prospective attendance and about Chris Romero's suggestion that he'd bring a team if this didn't conflict with HFT, which it now conveniently doesn't.

Sorry for the short notice, but UToronto is not going to come to Minnesota. We will be fielding a team (I believe) for the Maryland mirror, if there's still space.
Will no doubt get out to Minn at some point.

Barring anything out of the ordinary, I'm going to lock the field here at nine teams. We're projecting a 15-packet set (13 + 2 finals), though there's a small outside chance we could get a sixteenth together. The main site's format will likely be as follows: after a full round robin with packet byes as appropriate, we'll drop the house/chimera team and do a 4/4 bracketed RR, followed by standard ACF-style finals, which I may or may not read from behind a beard of bees on a stick.

Since no one on my team can write science questions that use clues rewarding what people in science actually do, if anyone not contributing to an MO packet would like to write 3/3 or 4/4 science for us, I will reciprocate by writing you the same number of(non-science) questions for another tournament. My email is [email protected]; this offer is on a first come, first serve basis.

We sort of discussed this on Westbrook's FB status, but Michigan is arriving too late to play basketball. :-(. I'd definitely be interested at another tournament.

We are leaving early (9-10, possibly even earlier) because we're gaining an hour on the ride home. So unless this game is super early, we may be out. I will bring shorts just in case though.

All qb discussion shall henceforth occur as responses to my Facebook status updates!

But anyway, I'm cool with Sunday morning.

Magin is also in, but since he's staying with us his participation will depend upon our going or not.

To whomever is getting the court, this would have to be SUPER early because I don't know when other Michigan people want to leave.
