So, this tournament desperately needs staffers of some sort. Since my darling NYC friends are pretty much a bunch of "drifters, weirdos, and preverts" who wouldn't be caught conscious at 8:30 AM even if you mixed caffeine with their barbiturates, I'm putting out an open call for any generous souls in the area. The inestimable Jon Pinyan? Someone rather more estimable? Seriously, anyone interested in staffing should get in touch with Bruce or myself (this thread is kosher too) - we're in great need, and it would be enormously appreciated.

I guess I haven't really made any confirmatory posts since my first one a few weeks ago, but yes, I can read and keep stats if needed.

I'll take the plunge and hand mine over.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Tonight I will be sending out important information concerning access to the campus on Saturday morning (for reasons that will become clear, these are not the sort of instructions I ought to relay in a public forum). I believe I've managed to find at least one contact per registered team; the following individuals will be recieving the email:

Bruce Arthur
Charlie Dees
Trey Taraila
Randall Maas
Dom Machado
Eric Mukherjee
Jeremy Hixson
Rebecca Maxfield
Chris White
Lily & York Chen
Aaron Cohen
David Garb
Jon Pinyan
Maggie Tse

Aforementioned indivduals: please keep an eye out for this email, read it and forward it to your teammates if applicable, and make sure that you and they understand it thoroughly. If this tournament is to go off with a minimum of hitches, it is imperative that the directions contained therein be followed to the letter.

My teammate Charlie Dees suffered a series of travel disasters and will not be making it to New York. I am now a free agent looking for a team.

Right, about that. Bruce is still decompressing (or decomposing) from his flight, but I think he'll agree that an 8:30-9:00 registration period is what we're aiming for, with games beginning at 9:00 or very soon after. Those of you who have read my email and its attached file know that the standard "roll about of bed at 8:30 and try to shower, ride the subway, and make it to [the publicly undisclosed starting location] by 9:00" might not cut it this time, so be sure to give yourselves more room for error than usual.

Hey guys I'm in town and although I'm not playing ECSO2, I need a place to stay for the night. Its a long story, but safe to say I'm in NYC and just need to get somewhere to sleep.

Edit: Will compensate.
Edit Edit: This looks resolved.

We'll be taking the earliest train in, but it's not exptected to pull in until 8:45. We'll try to rush over as fast as possible, but we might be a tad late. Just a heads-up.

I'll be picking Eric up near Penn Station tomorrow morning circa 8am. Anyone who wishes me to do the same would do well to get on IRC in the next few hours to touch base.

Where in the World is Doug Yetman? (Eric Mukherjee, Doug Yetman, Chris White, James Lasker) went 8-0 in the round-robin and won the first game of the final 410-235. Eric killed everyone with 100 PPG (second was Aaron at 46).

It's been brought to my attention the round report is messed up. I'll fix that in a few days along with any other verifiable stat errors people alert me to. In particular, if anyone from either team could inform me of the details on the Round 4 Dartmouth-Columbia game, it'd be appreciated.

Thanks everyone for a really fun tournament: thanks to Bruce and Doug for organizing it, and to Jon for full-time moderating / statskeeping, and a big thanks to Kurtis et. al for stepping in as editors last minute.

We also played all five rounds of BELFAST, ten of us in a room, as a shootout (thanks to Bruce for moderating). I'm not going to enter it into stats software but the basic stats were as follows:

Name: Score (15 - 10 - (-5) )

Rebecca Maxfield: -10 (0-0-2) [only played two or three rounds]
Jon Pinyan: 20 (0-2-0) [only played four rounds]
Sam Spaulding: 50 (1-4-1)
Anirudh Jangalapalli: 55 (5-7-18)
Aaron Cohen: 105 (5-5-4)
Doug Yetman: 125 (8-7-13)
Eric Mukherjee: 125 (11-2-12)
Chris White: 230 (11-8-3)
John Lawrence: 415 (22-11-5)

The one stat other stat I did take down was the score before the finals packet, in case the change in difficulty had a large effect on the scores. The scores before the finals packet, for those still playing were:

Jon: 20
Sam: 50
Anirudh: 55
Aaron: 70
Yetman: 115
Eric: 140
Chris: 155
Me: 325
