With the NSC recently occurring, there has, once again, been much talk about the wonkiness of the format and the potential unfairness that results from unclear conversion targets and the like. Thus, in the spirit of fairness, one might presume it would not be a good idea to host any tournament, including a regular-season one, on such a format.
On the other hand, regular-season events in the NSC format have also been talked about by several people as a good way of preparing for the real thing. It has also been posited that at tournaments where the field is not consistently great, bouncebacks serve to keep all players engaged. Thus, one might presume it would be a good idea to host a regular-season tournament in the NSC format.
What are the thoughts of the community of this dichotomy? Discuss.

Re: NSC Format in the Regular Season
As it has also been discussed, the change in game format will also allow more teams to modify game rules to implement reboundable bonuses without significantly recreating new packets.
