Re: Global Announcement: ACF Fall 2008, 11/8
Ideally, I'd like to have all the host bids by August 24. Since quite a few programs will not be able to have in-house discussions because they're not yet in session on that date, I will not make a final decision about hosting until September 7. However, some regions will have a host accepted on a rolling basis after August 24 but before September 7, which means that some regions will have hosts announced before the final bid entry deadline; if you want to host ACF Fall, it's in your best interests to submit a bid before August 24. Please do so by emailing me at [email protected]. Thanks.
August 24: Preferred bid entry deadline
Aug. 25-Sept. 6: Rolling acceptances start
September 7: Drop-dead bid deadline

Also, the first packet deadline is still almost three weeks out. That's plenty of time to band together, write a packet, save $50, and earn the everlasting thankfulness of the ACF Fall editors!

Hopefully a couple of teams from RPI could attend the Brandeis site but this is totally speculative as I'm only in the early stages of forming a team.

There's nothing wrong with driving to Brandeis, but the Carnegie Mellon location is about 100 miles closer.aarcoh wrote:Hopefully a couple of teams from RPI could attend the Brandeis site but this is totally speculative as I'm only in the early stages of forming a team.

I think you have us confused with RIT or something. We're located in Troy, NY (right outside Albany), about 160 miles from Brandeis

I must've misread the abbreviation in your signature. You're absolutely right; Rensselaer is much closer to Brandeis than CMU, and I should stop trying to comprehend things while sleep-deprived.aarcoh wrote:I think you have us confused with RIT or something. Any update on whether or not the mirror at UTK will work out? All the current sites are about equidistantly 5-6 hours away from us, but Knoxville's an hour or so closer and we've never been to a tournament there before.

I'm optimistic that the Knoxville site is a go, and it will probably be hosted on Sunday. UTK's coordinator Markus Iturriaga is currently waiting to see if he can get rooms. More soon.uga_chris wrote:Any update on whether or not the mirror at UTK will work out? I'd like to point out that the TD of the Mississippi State site is not going to be me, since I will be playing. I will still handle contact with teams and everything, but I am going to be playing in the tournament. The TD's name is Matt Kettleman.

Many, if not all. That's not to say they're not good (they're very good, on the whole), it's just that there are inevitably lots of repeats, and add that to stuff that's cut for being too hard or for being poorly written, and you've got a lot of holes in an eighteen-packet set.Wall of Ham wrote:Thats like.... 42 packets. Re: Global Announcement: ACF Fall 2008, 11/8
Judging by this, it appears the Okla/TX ACF Fall shall not occur, verdad?

The packet submitted by Florida State A will feature players who have not played prior to September 1, 2007 so there shouldn't be a $25 penalty, unless you are charging people for submitting optional packets.

The ACF Southwest Tournament at OU is still being held. We have 4 teams signed up plus two house teams. Only one team is submitting a packet (Langston). The rest are new to ACF. The teams attending are as follows:
Tulsa
Langston
Central Arkansas
Liberal Academy of Arts and Sciences
OU (2 teams)

David, did you not get my e-mail earlier this week? Unfortunately, Tulsa will not be able to make it to ACF Fall. I hope this does not create too much of a problem.DVader wrote:The ACF Southwest Tournament at OU is still being held. We have 4 teams signed up plus two house teams. Angelo, I did not get an email from you about none of the Tulsa teams attending. We will still have the tournament since we will have 4-5 teams (depending on how many house teams we field).jazzerpoet wrote:David, did you not get my e-mail earlier this week? I've started a spreadsheet to calculate PATH for the players at each of the sites. I'll be adding to it as I can.
The spreadsheet is here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key= ... k5aQ&hl=en
For an explanation of the PATH statistic, see here: http://www.doc-ent.com/qbwiki/index.php?title=PATH
