Open teams can participate?
I've been planning to make a trip to St. Louis sometime in the near future. Couldn't think of a better time to do it.

I wish I could make this but I think I will actually try to go to Chicago for the College Jeopardy audition... I skipped it last year for ACF Fall but this is my last chance for that particular tourney.

Ha, yes, I know how horrible of a person I am. Hopefully the Phelps County Democrats were able to hold down the fort without me for a weekend. I will see them this evening.fleurdelivre wrote:Quiz bowl instead of GOTV, Matt, really? I'm ashamed.Deckard Cain wrote:We'll be at GIT with one or two teams. Not sure about FOGHAT yet.
As far as actual results go, the two Illinois teams were preparing to play an advantaged final when we left, Missouri S&T was third, one of the Truman State teams was fourth, Sorice was the high scorer, and I am now retired from playing on IS sets.

Should've stayed in STL, skipped a couple days of classes... oh well. Re: GIT XIII (11/01/2008) at WUSTL (St. Louis, MO)
Unfortunately we're having difficulties with our Web space. We're talking to our Student Union about it, but it seems they've changed the way web spaces work this year (they launched a brand new web site themselves).
Anyhow, to summarize...congratulations to Illinois B (Mike Sorice) for winning Gateway Invitational XIII. He went undefeated in round robin play with a 9-0 record before losing the first match of advantage final with Illinois A and then winning the second match to take the title. Illinois A went 8-1 in round robin and took second place. Sorice also won the scoring title (153.89 PPG) and the neg title (22).
Here are the top four teams:
1. Illinois B: Mike Sorice (9-0)
2. Illinois A: Greg, Craig, Jonah, Justin (8-1)
3. Missouri S&T: Blaine, Matt, Jeffrey, Elaine, Tom (7-2)
4. Truman State B: Hank, Tyson, Chris (6-3)
The top seven scorers were awarded book prizes:
1. Mike Sorice, Illinois B (153.89 PPG)
2. Matt C., Missouri S&T (89.38)
3. Ryan S., Truman State A (84.44)
4. Greg, Illinois A (69.44)
5. David W., WUSTL (37.50)
6. Hank, Truman State B (37.22)
7. Christopher, Truman State B (36.11)
Details to come...we're trying to get the technical issues resolved.
