Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: EFT 3 at Brown (Saturday, October 4)
Thanks Jerry, for addressing our concerns so promptly and rationally. If we could have a definitive answer by tomorrow afternoon as to how many teams we should send, that'll be great.
I'm sure either way we'll enjoy EFT and its quality questions.

We'll be bringing our three buzzer systems, and would appreciate it if we could be picked up at the commuter rail (and also provided a place to sleep/get breakfast?). We'll be arriving in Providence at 7:50.

Everyone but Hampshire has confirmed, so unless something changes, I think we'll only have enough space for one Cornell team.
Again, sorry for the numbers crunch.

I've e-mailed Dennis, but just thought I'd post here too. We are down to 5 people, so if Cornell would like to bring people to combine with our extra, that would make everyone happy, I think.

24 teams converged on Brown University to play EFT3. Quick results are that 4 Harvard and 2 Dartmouth teams made top bracket, where almost every game was incredibly close and there were many losses all around. In the end, Dartmouth A and Harvard A had 2 and 3 losses respectively, and Dartmouth A lost the advantaged final to Harvard A. Full stats will be posted soon.

For the interested, Harvard A came back from a game down to beat Dartmouth A in an advantaged final. It was great to watch that game and read for those teams. Top scorers were Dallas Simons, Evan Silberman, and probably some other people too. Stats will be posted in due course. In the meantime, please refrain from discussing the questions in public fora, in consideration of the mirrors that will take place next weekend. As always, you can email any of the writers if you want to comment. After the mirrors are over, the set will become available for download.
Thanks again to all the folks who came out to play today, and to all of those who helped us out with staffing.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: EFT 3 at Brown (Saturday, October 4)
I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll post it here.
There are a couple of EFT sites that have yet to play the tournament, so obviously the questions cannot be discussed yet. The time to do so will be after October 11, when those tournaments have happened. That said, I will be working this week on cleaning up the set for those sites. Unfortunately there were a lot of grammatical mistakes that were only caught when reading the text of the questions out loud, so those will be fixed. Also, there were several overlaps in information (I remember 5 or 6 but could have been more) so those will be fixed as well. For the sake of completeness, both versions will be made available once all the mirrors are done.

edit: Ok, stats are up here. So far we just have the stats for the prelim rounds but we do have the playoff stats as well. When those are posted I will update the thread.

What happened in the 90-75 match between Harvard B and MIT A? It seems a little weird.that Harvard heard ten bonuses and got zero points.
