The set will tentatively be available for mirrors starting in the fall of 2022, with an open playtest mirror in the late summer. We intend for the majority of mirrors to be held in September and October. At the moment, we are planning for in-person mirrors of this set, though that is of course subject to change. The mirror fee for the tournament will be $45 per team. Hosts will be expected to collect detailed stats, for which moderators will receive training to use the scoresheets and packets. More information on requesting mirrors will be announced soon.

A distributional update:
  • Mythology will be changed to 0.5/0.5, primarily to make room for more other academic and Geo/CE questions
  • Other Academic will be approximately 0.7/0.7, and Geography and Current Events will be about 0.4/0.4 each

An update: Due to current set progress, we will be pushing back the start date for the playtest mirror and the general start time for mirrors. The hosting form and playtest announcement will be posted when these dates are finalized.

Hi all, an update on the set:

It pains me to say this, but due to various personal matters, I will be stepping down as head-editor for the set. Tim Morrison has graciously accepted to take over my responsibilities as head-editor and literature editor. Additionally, Kai Smith will no longer be editing science (chemistry, physics, other science) and auditory fine arts, and Jonathen Settle and Ethan Strombeck have kindly stepped in to take on those editing duties, with Tim covering math. Ganon Evans has also joined the team as a writer. The team is very grateful to all of you for your help!

With the personnel changes and current progress on the set, it seems that a spring date for the tournament would be difficult to achieve. As such, we will instead plan to have tournament be mirrored in the early fall. We apologize to all those who were looking forward to playing the set and hope that the additional time will lead to a superior tournament.

EDIT: Jacob Egol has also joined the writing team!

I had a lot of fun playing the playtest mirror. Is there a discussion group forum for this tournament?

Posting this as a reminder to those of you who have played this set: there is a discussion forum (2022 Winter Closed Discussion) you can join by going to "Usergroups" under the "User Control Panel". We'd appreciate any feedback!
