Penn State Quiz Bowl will host a mirror of SUN on April 11th, 2020. The initial field cap will be at 18 teams but may expand if there is interest.

Logistics
Registration will begin at 8:30 AM in Room 162 of the Willard Building and will conclude at 9:10 AM. The opening meeting will take place in the same room at 9:15 AM. Matches will then begin no later than 9:30 AM. We aim to conclude the tournament no later than 5:30 PM. There will be a break in the middle for teams to get lunch. There are many excellent lunch locations within walking distance, and directions/suggestions will be given to teams on the day of the tournament. Details about where to park and directions to the tournament location on campus will be emailed to teams about a week before the tournament.

Eligibility
Since this is a collegiate tournament, high school teams will not be allowed to participate. Chimera or open teams will also not be able to participate

Registration
To register for the tournament, please fill out this google form. Teams that bring their buzzer systems or tournament staff will be given a discount to their registration fee. The deadline to register is April 4th at 11:59 PM.

Teams may have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6 players per registered team, although up to 4 players may play at one time. Schools can bring as many teams as they like, but if a school is bringing more than six players, then they must split into two teams.

About a week before the tournament, registered teams will receive an email asking for rosters.

Fee Structure
$120 for a school’s first registered team
$110 per subsequent team
-$10 per buzzer system a school brings
-$10 per staff member a school brings
-$20 per team for any school that has not competed in a pyramidal quizbowl tournament in the past three years

All teams must pay the day of the tournament. We prefer to accept payment during registration right before the tournament starts. The minimum fee is $40 per team. Payments can be made via cash or check. Please make checks payable to “Penn State Quiz Bowl.”
