QANTA is a computer quizbowl-answering project that likes to test its mettle occasionally against human players. Last December, it did so at a live event at the University of Maryland. For those of you unable to make it to UMD, this is your chance to play those questions and test yourself against machine competition.
This is an open event, so players of all ages are eligible. To clarify, this is an individual, not team-based, competition.
The event will take place over 7 rounds, with 1 round per day. Each day, players will be placed in a pool, and the top performers in each pool will move up a step on the ladder. The highest climber at the end of the week is the winner.
The set we are using comes with 40-tossup rounds. The intended difficulty is high school nationals.
