Early Fall Tournament (EFT) at UOttawa (Oct 15 2016)

The University of Ottawa is glad to announce that we will be hosting a mirror of EFT on October 15th, 2016!

This tournament is marketed as being "regular-minus" difficulty, and is designed to be a good introduction to collegiate quizbowl. More information about it can be found here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... =8&t=18443

Location and Time:
The tournament will be taking place in the Faculty of Social Sciences Building (FSS). The tournament control room will be 7035.

As for time, please expect a start time of 9:00am. Aim to arrive around 8:30, though!

Eligibility:
This tournament is open to any interested college or high school teams.

Fee Structure and Discounts:
Base fee: $120 per team

Moderator: -$15
Buzzers: -$10
Travel: -$10 per 321.87 km (or 200 miles)
Minimum fee: $50 per team

Payment:
We will accept either cash or check on the morning of the tournament. Further instructions (along with an invoice) will be given upon registration.

I would expect at least one team from Mac that I'll likely be driving up. If this is open, I'll either be playing by myself or with some noobs.

For the record, non-US sites are allowed to set open eligibility for this set as they please (all US sites are closed). We leave the choice as to whether to allow open teams outside of the US to site hosts, but we strongly recommend that schools require that currently enrolled students play with a school team.

Can we get final clarification on whether this tournament is going to be completely closed? That seems to be the "word on the street", but it's nice when such things are official.
