It's been over two weeks since this announcement has been made, and it's a bit more than ten weeks to the proposed date.
Will there be guidance forthcoming soon regarding logistics for the event and procedures for applying for wildcard entries (or whether application for wildcard entries will be required this year)?

Is NAQT at all concerned that having just 3 seconds after a tossup is read and two seconds after buzzing to start an answer is going to lead to latency-induced negs?

Clarification: Rule G.4 specifies within two seconds of recognition rather than within two seconds of buzzing. In in-person events recognition is often informal if really done at all, but for the online *CTs, recognition will be formal and required. That might help, somewhat.

My own personal view is that having different time limits for when a TU goes dead vs how long a player has to answer post-recognition doesn't really provide any value, and that NAQT ought to just make them both the same.

Does required recognition mean that if a player buzzes in and immediately begins to answer that they'll be negged or something?

Rule G.2: "…There is no penalty if a player who has signaled answers before being acknowledged." (This is unchanged in the rule modifications for online play.)
