IQBT Rookie Challenges Hosted by Qblitz - 10/17, 11/14, 12/12

Post by AKKOLADE »

International Quiz Bowl Tournaments, LLC (IQBT), in partnership with Qblitz, the premier online quiz bowl platform, invite your school to compete in this fall’s Rookie Challenges. These are a series of online quiz bowl competitions for high school students. Students will be able to compete from home or their school in these competitions. These quiz bowl events will use questions specifically designed to be accessible by new players.

These events will have a separate division for middle schools and junior highs.

Each Rookie Challenge will consist of sixty questions, covering the subjects of science, history, literature, fine arts, religion, philosophy, mythology, social sciences, pop culture, current events, and geography. The three tournaments will be held:

• October 17
• November 14
• December 12

Each team’s performance on these questions will be compared, showing how they fare against every other competitor in the country. Top finishing teams and individuals will be recognized. Recognition will also be provided for the top small schools and underclassmen teams.

The entry fee for each player at each tournament is $16. Teams are made up of up to four players. Schools are welcome to register as many teams as they would like.

For more information about this event, including a link to register, please click here. For more information about Qblitz, the platform this event is being run on, please visit their site. Registering and competing will require Qblitz accounts.

The sample questions you posted here seem pretty hard for "Rookie" difficulty—they seem closer to a high school regular difficulty

We had internal discussions a week or two ago and removed the Ibsen question, since we decided it was too difficult as a tossup at this level. I forgot to update that file, but I've done so now.
