2019-20 Groger Ranks Midseason Poll: Results Posted

Post by Berniecrat »

Many players would agree that pure mathematical rankings can’t tell the full story about any given team's strengths and weaknesses. Each team has a unique story and personal character which cannot be gleaned off of a mere look at a stats page. This is why we believe player-submitted polls are crucial; people from across the country can put in their voice as who they see as the top teams and more important, why. For this reason, Groger Ranks is pleased to announce that we will be running the 2019-20 Midseason Poll. To help participate, just fill out this google form: https://forms.gle/3ypZ3z7GwtS69npM6, rank who you believe are the top 25 teams, and write a justification so that we can verify your knowledge of the circuit and understand your picks. You may want to consult the latest midseason rankings post on grogerranks.com

Some quick notes:
-You don't have to be a high schooler to vote.
-However, votes that do not attempt coherent justification for picks may be removed (though not publicly.) This does not mean that we will penalize ballots with "hot takes" - just that we expect any takes to be backed up with solid reasoning.
-There is an option to anonymize your ballot if you so choose.
-When entering a team, make sure to use its full name (in the format it appeared as in the 2019 HSNCT stats) and add a letter even if you don’t think it is necessary. For example, if you were ranking Stevenson A, even if you don’t have Stevenson B on the ballot, you would write it as Adlai E. Stevenson A.
-The poll is open until 11:59 PM eastern on January 11, 2020.

With that out of the way,
Happy voting!

Don’t forget to consider two of the top teams in the country (CCA and Blair) haven’t played yet abs some top teams have not played as full teams yet.

Like last year, we have compiled a spreadsheet by the best ppb and powers per game for each set to aid voters in the midseason polls (with comments added to note incomplete rosters): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... i5DA6I6zg/
