Laws and Treaties: A Vanity Packet

Post by buffaloz1331 »

Hello all! For about two and a half months now, I have been working on a "Laws and Treaties" packet. This is a very loose theme, and answerlines will consist of political documents, speeches, law codes, and ideologies, in addition to specific laws and treaties. This is a 21/21 powermarked packet, where the tossups are related to the theme, and bonuses are just Mixed/Other/Non-academic content that I like and decided to put in a bonus. I have just finished working on this packet, and I would love to read it on the Discord at some point soon. Some questions are more difficult than others, but I sought to make the clues challenging/unorthodox more so than the answerlines.

I had not planned on a distribution but here is what it ended up being:
9/0 World
7/0 American
5/0 Ancient/Miscellaneous/Other
0/21 Mixed/Other/Non-Ac

I would like to read this tomorrow (Thursday, June 11th, at 10 PM EDT [or whatever the current time zone on the east coast is]) in the main Quizbowl server. Please let me know if there is a major conflict, if not I will be planning on reading this then.

Let me know if there are any issues

I'd like to play this, but acronym league is tomorrow night, starting at 7 central. I can't remember how long it took last time, but I think I would miss out if so. If I'm the only one with this overlap I'll just read it later, so no worries :)

Both weeks that I played, it seemed the three games got played in about 40 minutes each, ending shortly after 10pm ET (2 hours after start time).

Alright. I can move this to Friday at the same time or move it back towards 10:30 or 11 eastern on Thursday, in that case.

EDIT: I will aim for 10:45 PM, eastern

Could you post the packet somewhere? I'd be interested to read it. Thanks!

I'm planning on reading it to the HS server for those interested there within the next couple of days, then uploading it. It should be up on packet archives by Monday.

After a reading on the High School Quizbowl Discord server, this set is "clear." I've uploaded it and it should be up once approved. Thanks to all for playing this, it was fun to write!

EDIT: This packet is up!
