Just what is "business casual" dress, and how do I wear it?

So you're telling me I shouldn't show up wearing my Union kepi?

Speaking as someone who's only worn dresses or skirts to any quizbowl tournament, staffed or played, a few tips with the hopes that a woman will someday need this thread:
  • If you're moderating, keep in mind that you'll probably be leaning over a packet or laptop all day. Anything that feels a little tight in the back, chest, or upper arms will probably get really uncomfortable. And possibly sweaty.
  • Speaking of sweaty, if you're going to wear makeup, it'll probably get gross over a long tournament day. Plan accordingly.
  • Cardigans are your friends. Layers in general are your friends.
  • Flats are also your friends.
  • If you're going to wear a skirt, make sure it's long enough that people who might be sitting in front of you can't see anything when you're sitting down.
