I won't be involved, but there will be some (likely 1) Ottawa teams coming. Aaron's in charge, and I've offered to lend him one buzzer set.

So what, someone's going to get locked in a Sharpshooter while the moderator stops reading questions before the match ends because the TD started screaming "Ring the damn bell!"?

Well, it's being held in the wrong province for anyone to be promised the title beforehand, only to lose it in a heartbreakingly close match.

Look, when Canadian wrestlers are evil, they're announced as being from Canada. When they're good guys, they're announced is living in an American city. Ergo, all of Canada is evil, and you don't need to be in Montreal to screw someone.

Great! Buzzers will be especially welcome since we currently have only 3.

That would be more like NAQT's old rule of cutting off questions mid-flow when the clock ran out. I'm glad they changed that.

Guelph will likely be bringing 3-4 teams to this. We may or may not have 1 buzzer system and 1 moderator. Thanks!

A message from Rico, the tournament director about the updated roster for this Saturday. Please send him an email at nosetackle2005-AT-rogers-DOT-com if you haven't officially registered yet:

Hello everyone,

Here is the latest known roster of teams officially entered for this Saturday:

- University of Ottawa (distance, 1 buzzer, players registered)
- University of Rochester (distance, players registered)
- University of Waterloo (1 buzzer)
- McMaster University A (1 buzzer, 1 moderator)
- McMaster University B
- Queen's University (distance, 2 buzzers)

- University of Toronto A
- University of Toronto B

That makes 8 teams so far. The following have expressed interest but have not informed me officially:

- Guelph University (2-3 teams)
- McGill University

- two Rochester teams including the defending champs: American Bacon

I'll keep you informed the rest of the week with respect to roster updates.

Hello TRASH Players,

This Saturday's FINAL team competitor list for the 2009 Canadian TRASH Regionals are as follows:

- University of Ottawa (distance, 1 buzzer, players registered)
- University of Rochester aka "TORONTO ROCK CITY" (distance, players registered)
- University of Waterloo (1 buzzer)
- Guelph University A
- Guelph University B
- McMaster University A (1 buzzer, 1 moderator)
- McMaster University B
- Queen's University A (distance, 2 buzzers, players registered)
- Queen's University B (distance, players registered)
- Woburn Collegiate (high school)
- Rochester team aka "LE COUPE GREY POUPON" (distance)

- University of Toronto A
- University of Toronto B

That makes the field being comprised of 13 TEAMS.

As a result, the tournament will be a 13-game round robin with a final 14th game in the event of a tie at top spot at the end of regulation.

Due to the large number of games being played and the lack of knowledge of players on a majority of the teams registered, I ENCOURAGE all teams to report to the main TRASH headquarters in the SID SMITH building (100 St. George St.) on the 2ND FLOOR NO LATER THAN 8:30 AM in preparation for a 9:00 AM start of the tournament.

IMPORTANT: Please think of CREATIVE NAMES for your teams upon registration other than the boring "U of T A" and "U of T B" <barfs!> ;^)

For a map of St. George Campus, please follow this link (Sidney Smith is denoted by the letters "SS"):

http://rrs.osm.utoronto.ca/map/f?p=110: ... 6829877712

Details will follow about places to park on the day of the tournament.

Awards will be given to the following categories this year:

- Canadian TRASH Regionals TEAM CHAMPS
- Canadian TRASH Regionals TEAM RUNNERS-UP
- Canadian TRASH Regionals MVP
- Canadian TRASH Regionals MOST NEGS (with conditions - will be known on the day
of the tournament)

If you have any issues or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me by
email:

Look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday!

Yeah, definitely thanks to U of T. I left early, but it was fun while it lasted.
