The University of Chicago is pleased to announce that it is hosting a GARBAGE mirror on March 1st. I, David Seal, will be serving as TD. It is packet submission so please see the original GARBAGE thread (viewtopic.php?f=19&t=6806) details. The tournament will be held in Harper Memorial Library. Please email me at [email protected] if you wish to attend or have any questions.

I can definitely return to the University of Chicago the day after ACF Regionals for this GARBAGE Mirror. Because Sunday will be an open, I am always looking for teammates, especially trash players who have more experience with writing questions on music, current television, video games, comic books, and non-vegetarian restaurants, for example.

Go Arizona Cardinals,
Rom Masrour
CPS/UIC

A team of me/Mike Cheyne/Andrew Hart/Trygve Meade will be playing and, as of today, has submitted its packet. If a team name wasn't indicated, I'd like to request noted Bjornstjerne Bjornson comedy Geography and Love.

For those of you familiar with the area, where would be an ideal place to park? Any nearby restaurants that shouldn't be missed?

Trygve will not be playing tomorrow; Geography and Love's fourth will instead be Jeet Raut. AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT EVAN SILBERMAN

You should be able to park right outside the tournament building on 59th Street with no issues.

Hyde Park is pretty lackluster in the food department (though Harold's Chicken--1208 E. 53rd Street--has some fans), but Chinatown is pretty nearby. Two particular recommendations are Ed's Potsticker House (3139 S. Halsted) in Bridgeport and Lao Sze Chuan (2172 S. Archer Ave) in Chinatown proper.

Quick results: Illinois (Mike Sorice, Andrew Ullsperger, Micah Hodosh and Chris Vicich) won at 9-1 through a double round robin. Mike Cheyne, Erik Nelson, Brian Hight and Chris Vicich were top scorers. I'd like to thank Seth Teitler, Bernadette Spencer and Selene Koo for helping to staff. Full stats should be up in the next day or so.

Thanks to all the staffers that helped make an awesome day of quiz bowl possible. We had a great time. I'll refrain from commenting further until we're able to discuss the questions.

Thanks to all the staffers--this tournament ran very smoothly, was calibrated on the fly to give us a few extra matches, and got out at a very decent time. Hope to see all of the teams, even those not normally on the "circuit," at both Fake ICT and Fake TRASHionals.
