Hey,
Kelly Tourdot and I are looking for a couple other players to form an ABD team (which is currently designated Illinois 1.) We're more than willing to write a fair share of a packet. Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you've got a player or two in similar situations.

Later,
MaS

PS: If you care about matching player strengths or whatever, I'd say Kelly's a fairly good trash player who knows TV, movies, "other" stuff and current quasi-rock-type music, while I'm a middling-at-best player specializing in classic rock, old video games, important aspects of popular mainstream sports, and other things that more or less never come up.

We're up to nine teams (teams from Chicago, teams from Notre Dame, Mr. Kilner's team, and the O'Reilly's to start)

So, if you're interested, there's still time, but it is ticking down:

Register here: http://www.mikeburger.com/abdregister.html
Information here: http://www.mikeburger.com/abd2008.html

If you have any additional questions, I am happy to field them (email me at [email protected]).

We look forward to seeing you if you're interested. And don't forget the MLK the day before!

EDIT: I've erased my request for teammates because... well, I found teammates. Thanks.

The following 14 teams have registered for the ABD, and have turned in their packets or have given me reasonable extenuating circumstances:
  • …Because We Suck at Real Quizbowl
    Celebrity Fight Club
Four Weis Guys and Two Women
    Chicago Mouth-Breather
    Chicago: Life of the Nerd
    Butterflies with the Mullets
    Bill O'Reilly's Second Favorite Foursome
    Khmer Rush
    Sheinhardt Wig Company
    Swatchmen
    Pitt of Boiling Oil
    Pitt of Upside Down Sinners
Pitt of Being Cut to Pieces
    The Mysterious Ticking Michigan
The following 3 teams have registered for the ABD, but have not turned in a packet, and the deadline has come and gone. These teams are in jeopardy of not being allowed to participate:
  • Notre Dame B
    Chicago: Nasty, Brutish and Anti-Social
    Moonahol
Registration will began at 8:30 in Room 3427 in Mason Hall (campus map: http://www.mikeburger.com/mb_parking.html). The players/moderators meeting will be at 8:50, and play will began at 9:15. Unlike previous years, there will not be lunch provided. Due to the extra time burden this will cause, please be on time and please be prepared to keep the tournament moving.

Playoff Stats may be found here:

In the Final Game: Bill O'Reilly's Second Favorite Foursome beat Moonajuana (Illinois) by a margin of 436 to 125 (I think, I thought I had posted this last night, when I actually had the scoresheet right in front of me.)

On behalf of Mike and myself, we'd like to thank our teams for coming to the 2008 Ann B. Davis Tournament. We hope our teams had a good time and we hope to see you again next year along with any team that may be interested.

As always, we're happy to listen to suggestions and constructive criticism to make our next effort even better. Thank you.
